Finding water alluring for one reason or another must be a thread in our genetic fabric. We need it to live, it’s the habitat of a major food source, we travel it to discover new worlds, and it’s a key ingredient in or to produce almost everything.
Our connection to water is as innate as it is universal.
At our point in history, we are in a place where we can no longer mismanage water, at least the fresh kind. It is the blood of our existence, and with so many of us, it’s running out. This realization is simply trickling through the masses, sparking minimal but important reactions that generate small waves of awareness through our various worlds–art, writing, politics, engineering, etc…
I for one could not be happier to see the fruits of awareness take shape. Ice music delights my soul through my ears, images impress the majesty of water on my brain through my eyes, powerful statements through the work of hands as consumed with water as mine give me hope.
If you are starting to feel passion for water, here are some ways to please your senses and provide yourself with an outlet for action. In this case, I’m happy to be your pusher woman. Give in to the odyssey of water. Here’s my medicine wheel:
- Ears – Listen to Ice Music
Smell pure water, if you can find it.
- Skin – Shower with peppermint, eucalyptus and tea tree
- Act – Become a waterkeeper
